Generated Thumbnails

MediaLab automatically creates thumbnails for all uploaded files. While these are useful for quick previews, the automatically generated version may not always be ideal.

Customizing Thumbnails

You can edit or replace the thumbnail for any file in your Lab. The easiest way to access the thumbnail editor is through the context menu of the file you want to modify.

The Thumbnail Editor

Within the thumbnail editor, you can either create a new thumbnail from the original file or upload a different image to use as the thumbnail.

Options available:

• Current thumbnail – Displays the existing thumbnail for reference.
• Upload new thumbnail – Click Choose file to select an image from your computer.
• Create thumbnail – Click Create Thumbnail to crop a new one from the original image. Move and resize the blue square; everything inside it will become the new thumbnail.
• Submit – Once you’re satisfied, click Submit to save your changes.
