Setting the target folder for pull uploads

The Pull add-on allows you to upload files via FTP, UDP, S3, or Azure into MediaLab. These methods support uploads without exposing files that have already been uploaded.

There are three ways to define the target folder for pull uploads:

1. Set Target Folder in the Pull Profile

Edit your pull profile and select the target folder in the Pull inbox. All uploads through this profile will go into the chosen folder.

2. Use a Folder ID

If you want one profile to upload to multiple folders, you can specify the target folder per upload using its Folder ID.

  • Go to the desired folder in MediaLab.
  • Find the parameter folder_id in the URL, or check under Folder → Details.
  • When logging in via FTP, create a directory with the numeric Folder ID as its name and upload files there.
  • During import, MediaLab detects the subdirectory and places files in the correct folder.
  • If the user doesn’t have access to that folder, files will go into the configured Pull Inbox instead.

3. Import a Folder Structure

If you want to import an entire folder structure (with subdirectories or nested levels), select Sync folder tree.

  • During import, the full folder path will be matched.
  • If the path doesn’t exist, it will be created automatically (requires create folder rights).
