# Automatic login for users

MediaLab supports **auto-login links**, which let users log in automatically without entering credentials.

- Auto-login links are tied to a **specific user account**.
- They can be generated for **one-time use** or for a **longer period**.
- The permissions of the linked user account determine what the recipient can access.

This feature is often used to provide **public access** to specific folders, such as a screening room.

### Auto-Login Add-on

- Not enabled by default — contact the MediaLab service desk to activate it.
- Generates unique links that log users in under the shared account.
- Links can be set to **expire** after a period or **revoked** at any time.
- They can be placed on websites for public access or shared with select groups.
