# User levels in MediaLab

MediaLab provides several **user levels** to control access to core features. User levels define the baseline permissions for each account. For **uploaders** and **regular users**, additional access can be granted through **user control flags** (e.g., sharing, downloading).

### User Levels

- **Owner**
  - Same rights as Administrators.
  - Additional access to subscription information and SSO-related security settings.
  - Protected accounts that cannot be removed.
- **Administrator**
  - Full access to the Lab.
  - Can manage the folder structure, upload, share files, create users, and manage add-ons (Pull/Push).
- **Media Manager**
  - Full access to all media in the Lab.
  - Can manage folders, upload, and share files.
  - Cannot manage users, groups, or Push/Pull profiles.
- **Uploader**
  - Requires explicit folder access through **user groups**.
  - Can browse assigned folders and upload files.
  - Cannot edit or remove files unless given the **Manage** flag.
- **User**
  - Requires explicit folder access through **user groups**.
  - Can view files in assigned folders but cannot upload.
  - Can be granted extra abilities (e.g., Share, Download) through control flags.
